Images of Indonesian destinations and culture have graced the subway
cars of the Caracas Metro since Friday, following the launch of the
Wonderful Indonesia tourism campaign in Venezuela.
As reported by kompas.com,
images of various tourist attractions from across the archipelago will
be featured on the subway cars for three months. These include Balinese
dancers, the Borobudur and Prambanan temples in Yogyakarta, the Komodo
Island in East Nusa Tenggara and Bunaken marine park in North Sulawesi.
"Metro Caracas is proud for giving Indonesian tourism and culture
promotion room as part of an effort to increase [ties] between the two
countries," Metro Caracas president Cesar Vega said in a statement on
Monday.
Indonesian Ambassador to Venezuela Mochammad Luthfie Witto’eng said
the move aims to introduce the archipelago's various culture and tourist
destinations, as well as encourage Venezuelans to visit Indonesia.
The Metro Caracas has served the people of Venezuela since 1983,
transporting around 2 million people across its four lines and 22
stations every day.
Previously, Indonesia conducted a similar promotion on Venezuela's buses. (kes)
